Precautions for the application of fluorine-lined valves

Appropriate selection and application of fluorine-lined anti-corrosion valves is a matter of concern to everyone in engineering. The price of fluorine-lined butterfly valves is much lower than that of corrosion-resistant stainless steel valves and Hastelloy valves. Some metal valves with strong corrosive media cannot be used, but only plastic-lined valves can be used well. However, the plastic-lined valve must be suitable for application. It is hoped that several technical conditions such as application pressure and application temperature should be used. Take our company’s products as an example to illustrate the following:
(1) The temperature of the medium used in the fluorine-lined valve: Usually, the fluorine plastic used in the fluorine-lined valve is F46 (FEP), and the temperature of the medium used cannot exceed 150 °C (the medium temperature can reach 150 °C in a short time, and the temperature of the long-term use It should be around 120℃), otherwise, the F46 lining of various parts of the valve is easy to soften and deform, resulting in the valve not closing and the leakage is large.
If the temperature of the medium used by the user is below 180 °C for a short time and below 150 °C for a long time, another fluoroplastic, PFA, can be used, but the price of fluoroplastic lined with PFA is more expensive, so it should be used in advance when matching. Inquiry.
(2) Do not have negative pressure. Fluoroplastic-lined valves should avoid negative pressure in the pipelines used. If there is negative pressure, it is easy to cause the fluoroplastic-lined layer of the valve cavity to be sucked out (bulged) and shelled, resulting in failure of the valve to open and close.
(3) The pressure and differential pressure should be controlled within the allowable range. Especially the fluorine-plastic-lined regulating valve and globe valve sealed by bellows. Because the bellows is made of tetrafluoro material, the pressure is high and the pressure difference is high, which can easily lead to the rupture of the bellows.
Bellows-sealed fluoroplastic-lined regulating valve can be changed to PTFE packing seal if the operating condition pressure and differential pressure are high.
(4) The medium conditions used in the fluoroplastic valve should not have hard particles, crystallization, impurities, etc., so as to prevent the valve from breaking the valve core, the fluoroplastic layer of the valve seat or the tetrafluoro bellows during the opening and closing operation. For the medium with hard particles, crystals and impurities, when selecting, the valve core and valve seat can be changed to Hastelloy, but additional inquiry is required.

Precautions for installation of pinless wafer butterfly valve

The pinless wafer butterfly valve contains two connection methods, one is pinless and the other is wafer. A pinless butterfly valve is a pinless butterfly valve that does not use a pin to penetrate the connection between the valve plate and the valve stem. Commonly used pinless butterfly valves include wafer type butterfly valves and flange type butterfly valves, so flange type butterfly valves are often compared with wafer type butterfly valves. The biggest difference between the two is the connection method during installation. Now let’s take a look at what to pay attention to when installing the pinless wafer butterfly valve.
1. During installation, the valve disc should be stopped in the closed position.
2. The opening position should be determined according to the rotation angle of the butterfly plate.
3. For the butterfly valve with bypass valve, the bypass valve should be opened before opening.
4. The installation should be carried out according to the installation instructions of the manufacturer, and the heavy-weight butterfly valve should be installed with a firm foundation.
5. The butterfly plate of the pinless wafer butterfly valve is installed in the diameter direction of the pipeline. In the cylindrical passage of the butterfly valve body, the disc-shaped butterfly plate rotates around the axis, and the rotation angle is between 0-90°. When the rotation reaches 90°, the valve is fully open.
6. If the butterfly valve is required to be used as a flow control, the main thing is to select the size and type of the valve correctly. The structure principle of the butterfly valve is especially suitable for making large-diameter valves. Butterfly valves are not only widely used in general industries such as petroleum, gas, chemical, and water treatment, but also used in cooling water systems of thermal power stations.
The price of the pinless wafer butterfly valve is roughly 2/3 of that of the pinless flange butterfly valve, which is relatively cheap, but the sealing performance is not as good as that of the flange butterfly valve. When choosing imported valves, use wafer butterfly valves as much as possible because they are cheap and light in weight. One of its limitations is that there are no flanges at both ends of the valve body, and there are only a few guide bolt holes. The valve is connected to the end flange with a set of bolts/nuts. Compared with the flanged butterfly valve, it is much more convenient to disassemble, and the valve cost is lower, but the disadvantage is that one sealing surface has a problem, and both sealing surfaces have to be disassembled. The paired flanges of the clip-on type are butt welded and cannot be installed by socket welding.
The pinless wafer butterfly valve also has its own advantages, that is, it saves space, and try to use wafer butterfly valves when the piping position is tight. The biggest difference between the pinless wafer butterfly valve and the flangeless butterfly valve is that the wafer butterfly valve saves a pair of flanges, so the cost is relatively cheap, but it is not conducive to the disassembly and assembly of maintenance, etc., where permitted, priority Choose a wafer butterfly valve. 1. The triple eccentric hard sealing butterfly valve is a multi-layer soft and hard stacked sealing ring, which is also a very significant feature of the triple eccentric hard sealing butterfly valve. The seat sealing ring is composed of multiple layers of stainless steel sheets on both sides of the soft T-shaped sealing ring. When the valve plate is in the normally open state, the medium will form a positive scouring on its sealing surface, and the soft sealing tape in the metal sheet sandwich will directly affect the sealing performance after being scoured.
2. The valve will be restricted by the structural conditions, so the structure is not suitable for valves with a diameter below DN200, because the overall structure of the valve plate will be too thick and the flow resistance will be large.
3. The principle of the valve’s triple eccentric structure. The sealing between the sealing surface of the valve plate and the valve seat is to press the valve plate against the valve seat by the torque of the transmission device. It is a self-sealing property. That is, when the medium is flowing in the forward direction, the higher the medium pressure, the tighter the sealing and squeezing. However, in general, when the flow channel medium flows back, as the medium pressure increases, the unit positive pressure between the valve plate and the valve seat is less than the medium pressure, the seal will begin to leak.
Is there a solution to the inability to achieve two-way sealing? Butterfly valve manufacturers add an adjustment ring between the pressure plate and the valve seat to achieve a very ideal two-way hard seal. The sealing surface of the valve plate and the valve seat of the triple eccentric sealing butterfly valve is an oblique cone structure, and temperature-resistant and corrosion-resistant alloy materials are surfacing welded on the oblique cone surface of the valve plate. A structure in which the spring fixed between the pressure plate of the adjusting ring and the adjusting bolt of the pressure plate are assembled together. This structure effectively compensates for the tolerance zone between the shaft sleeve and the valve body and the elastic deformation of the valve stem under the medium pressure, and solves the sealing problem of the valve in the two-way interchangeable medium conveying process.
When the medium flows backward, the seal between the valve plate and the valve seat depends on the torque of the driving device to press the valve plate against the valve seat. With the increase of the reverse medium pressure, when the unit positive pressure between the valve plate and the valve seat is less than the medium pressure, the deformation energy stored by the spring of the adjusting ring after being loaded compensates for the tight pressure of the sealing surface of the valve plate and the valve seat Play the role of automatic compensation.

3. Try to filter the impurities in the pipeline as much as possible to avoid squeezing the sealing surface when the butterfly valve is closed, causing the valve to fail to close completely, causing leakage, and causing safety hazards.
4. The opening state of the butterfly plate of the butterfly valve should be greater than 15°, because if the butterfly valve is in a state with a large throttle range, the back of the butterfly plate is prone to cavitation and the valve is at risk of damage.
5. When the butterfly valve is in the middle opening, the operating mechanism needs to be self-locking.
6. Prevent the butterfly valve from mechanical damage, and don’t let the sediments, chemicals, damp gas and other substances in the air corrode the valve and affect the quality of the valve.
7. The threads, bearings, gears and other parts of the working interface of the butterfly valve should be regularly lubricated.

2. Lifting check valve: a check valve whose disc slides along the vertical centerline of the valve body. The lifting check valve can only be installed on a horizontal pipeline. The disc can be used on a high-pressure small-diameter check valve. . The valve body shape of the lift check valve is the same as the stop valve (can be used in common with the stop valve), so its fluid resistance coefficient is relatively large. Its structure is similar to the stop valve, and the valve body and disc are the same as the stop valve. The upper part of the valve disc and the lower part of the valve cover are processed with guide sleeves. The disc guide can be lifted and lowered freely in the valve guide sleeve. When the medium flows downstream, the disc opens by the thrust of the medium. When the medium stops flowing, the disc depends on its own It falls on the valve seat to prevent the medium from flowing backward. The direction of the medium inlet and outlet channel of the straight-through lift check valve is perpendicular to the direction of the valve seat channel; the vertical lift check valve has the same direction of the medium inlet and outlet channels as the valve seat channel, and its flow resistance is smaller than that of the straight-through type.

3. Disc check valve: a check valve with the disc rotating around the pin shaft in the valve seat. The disc check valve has a simple structure and can only be installed on a horizontal pipeline, with poor sealing performance.

4. In-line check valve: a valve with the valve flap sliding along the centerline of the valve body. In-line check valve is a new type of valve. It is small in size, light in weight, and good in processing technology. It is one of the development directions of check valves. However, the fluid resistance coefficient is slightly larger than that of the swing check valve.

5. Compression check valve: This valve is used as a boiler feed water and steam shut-off valve. It has a comprehensive function of lift check valve and stop valve or angle valve.

In addition, there are some check valves that are not suitable for pump outlet installation, such as bottom valve, spring type, Y type, etc.

Precautions
1. Do not allow the check valve to bear weight in the piping system. Large check valves should be independently supported so that they are not affected by the pressure generated by the piping system.

2. When installing, pay attention to the direction of medium flow should be consistent with the direction of the arrow marked on the valve body.

3. Lifting vertical flap check valve should be installed on the vertical pipeline.

4. Lifting horizontal flap check valve should be installed on the horizontal pipeline.
